What does COWC mean in COLLEGES

The Colleges of Worcester Consortium (COWC) was founded in 2007 and is a partnership of educational institutions located in Worcester, Massachusetts that works together to advance higher education through collaborative initiatives. COWC consists of five private colleges: Assumption College, Worcester State University, Becker College, Holy Cross College, and Clark University.

The mission of COWC is to provide students with an enriched higher education experience through greater access to academic resources, networking opportunities, and shared experiences. We currently offer several grant-funded research projects involving faculty and staff from multiple institutions working together towards a shared goal related but not limited to areas such as sustainability studies, urban planning initiatives, cybersecurity advancements etc.

Participation in any one project does not necessarily guarantee job placement after graduation though some past participants have found employment at their institution after successful completion. However we highly encourage you to take advantage networking opportunities whenever possible so that you may develop relationships with faculty members and potential employers.
