What does CNTG mean in STATE & LOCAL

History

CNTG was established over 70 years ago in 1948 as the first national trade union in Guinea. Initially focused on providing primary education to members and advocating for better wages and working conditions, CNTG has grown into a powerful organization that represents over two million unionized workers across the nation. As an affiliate of the International Trade Union Confederation, it seeks to promote social dialogue between labour organizations and employers in order to advocate for better rights for workers around the world. The organization educates its members about their role in society and is committed to raising awareness about sustainable development in all industries.

Objectives

The organization's aims are twofold - one is to protect current members from unfair treatment at work through collective bargaining agreements with employers, while simultaneously encouraging increased labor market participation among unorganized employees. CNTG also actively works to eliminate discrimination in all forms, ensuring that workers of all races, genders, ages and abilities are protected from unfair practices or policies based on any factor other than job performance or merit. It strives for equal representation within its membership by allowing for equal terms of employment regardless of any existing inequalities between different demographic groups. Additionally, CNTG is committed to fighting child labor practices through public awareness campaigns and active engagement with local governments and businesses throughout Guinea.
