What does CMM mean in TELECOM

A Cable Management Module (CMM) is a set of standard components used to organize and protect power, data, and communication cables within a data center or communications system.

Using CMM components provides several benefits including improved organization, reduced clutter, better cable security, improved air flow, increased safety, and cost savings.

The CMM components are typically mounted between racks and cabinets to hold cables securely in place. Depending on the type of installation required for your specific needs additional support may be needed for larger installations.

There are many different types of CMM components available including cable trays/ladders/baskets, patch panels/connectors/adapters/housings, raceways/conduits/ducts/wire separators, cable ties/clips/grommets etc. Each component serves its own purpose depending on the application requirements.

The only limitation when using CMM Components is the space for mounting provided by the rack or cabinet that you are installing them in. Additionally some high density applications may require specialized equipment beyond what can be provided by traditional off-the-shelf items found in preconfigured kits. In these cases custom manufactured solutions may need to be discussed with manufacturers or distributors prior to installation to ensure compatibility with existing hardware standards employed in the customer's facility or network systems environment.
