What does CMAS mean in SOCIETIES

CMAS is a society of hobbyists that share an interest in the marine aquarium. While we welcome anyone interested in learning more about the marine aquarium hobby regardless of age or prior experience no one under 18 years old may attend alone without a guardian present at all times for safety reasons.

We recommend that members have their own tanks before attending meetings as this allows them greater flexibility when engaging in various activities such as setup demonstrations or maintenance tutorials; however those who don't already have tanks may be able to borrow one from another member if arrangements are made ahead of time and agreed upon by both parties involved.

No; membership dues are only used towards paying operating costs associated with running the organization such hosting meetings/workshops or providing educational materials so unfortunately they cannot cover costs related to traveling expenses incurred by members when attending official club activities away from home base locations. However depending on availability there may be some limited forms financial aid available through scholarship programs administered by other external agencies which helps offset some travelling costs subject to eligibility requirements set forth by those organizations awarding such assistance.
