Services Provided

CJI provides a range of services, including direct representation for victims of crime within the criminal justice system; mediation between parties; education in understanding the justice system; training in restorative approaches to crime prevention; and support for communities impacted by crime. By embracing a holistic approach to public safety, CJI seeks to reduce recidivism rates and improve communities through empowerment and education. Additionally, CJI works closely with local law enforcement partners, providing guidance on best practices while also ensuring due process is being followed within the justice system. Additionally, CJI has a Victims' Rights Program which strives to hold offenders accountable while also providing victims with access to resources such as counseling, advocacy and referrals so they can find their way back onto the road towards healing. At CJI we believe that it is essential for victims of crime to receive proper recognition and legal protection in order for them to move forward with their lives in healthy ways. Lastly, CJI's Restorative Justice Program works on educating people about different ways of responding to wrongdoing from an alternative perspective than relying solely on punitive measures. Restorative justice looks at repairing harms caused by crime through dialogue between parties involved along with understanding how these situations have been created or perpetuated due to structural inequalities present in our society today.
