What CHAC Means

CHAC stands for Campus Housing Advisory Committee. As its name suggests, this is a committee of students and faculty members who together address any issues related to student housing. This could involve finding solutions to improve the quality of living spaces such as upgrading existing dorms or providing additional housing services such as laundry facilities or counseling services. Additionally, they may also suggest policy changes in order to increase access to off-campus housing options which are often more affordable than those available on campus.  The primary goal of the CHAC is to provide every student with a safe and comfortable place to call home during their time at university.

How CHAC Makes a Difference in the Community

The CHAC works to make sure that every student has access to safe and comfortable housing while attending college or university. This can be beneficial in several ways including providing guidance on how best to find affordable housing options both on-campus and off-campus; offering advice on how students can maintain good relationships with landlords; giving tips on how students can live safely off campus; and advocating for policies that promote greater access and affordability for all students. In addition, the CHAC helps build strong connections between universities and local communities by fostering dialogue about student housing needs within each local area - helping both parties reach an understanding that benefits everyone involved.
