What does CGPS mean in SCHOOLS

Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School currently educates more than 1,200 students across three divisions– Lower (Pre-K to Grade 5), Middle (Grades 6-8) and Upper (Grades 9-12).

At CGPS we offer a variety of diverse activities including, but not limited to athletics, student council, choir, band, orchestra, debate team, fine arts classes such as ceramics or sculpture, theater programs etc.

Yes! Our Learning Lab provides services for students that require additional help in the areas of reading comprehension, writing expression, mathematics calculation and reasoning. We also have social-emotional therapists on staff to help address any behavior issues or emotional wellbeing challenges.

Absolutely! We offer a limited number of tuition assistance grants based on financial need. Families can apply online through our website or request additional information from our admissions office.

We believe that engagement between parents and faculty is key for student success. Parents are encouraged to get involved through parent organizations such as Friends of CGPS or volunteering their time on committees or chaperoning field trips.

Yes! Each year we send several talented Upper Division students around the world as part of our Global Ambassador Program. Through this program they learn about different cultures while sharing their experiences back with the school community upon returning home.
