What does ACO mean in SPORTS

The American Cornhole Organization is the official governing body for the sport of cornhole. It provides resources and organizes competitions, tournaments, and events for both amateur and professional players. We serve as an advocate for the growing community of cornhole enthusiasts to help promote the sport by providing resources, education, and support.

According to ACO rules, a match consists of 2-4 players competing in singles or doubles on two opposite platforms that are 27 feet apart. Each player/team throws 4 bags per frame with the goal to land them within the hole located at the top of each platform. Players can take turns throwing from either end until all 8 bags have been thrown. The team/player with the most points after 16 frames wins.

To play a game of cornhole you will need two regulation boards made according to ACO specifications, 8 regular size bags (4 red & 4 blue) filled with feed corn or plastic resin pellets, and 2 measuring tapes to ensure accuracy across all games played.

Yes! Prior to playing any game it’s always important to check your equipment and make sure everything is in proper order. Make sure all platforms are secured properly before beginning a game; this includes making sure no loose screws or other objects could become projectiles during gameplay. We also recommend that everyone wear eye protection if possible when playing such as sunglasses or goggles.

Yes, all participants must adhere to our standard dress code guidelines which include wearing approved uniforms (t-shirts hoodies sweatshirts etc.), avoiding flip flops/ open toes shoes, wearing appropriate pants shorts skirts etc., covering up tattoos & avoiding non-approved logos & graphics on clothing. We also ask that everyone maintains good sportsmanship throughout each match which includes refraining from any cursing or bad behavior.

All players who wish to participate in ACO sanctioned events must register prior to attending. You can do this through our website where you will be able to find an updated list of upcoming events as well as register for them online by following the instructions provided on our website.

Absolutely! If you plan on bringing your own equipment it is recommended that they meet ACO regulations prior arriving at an event. This means making sure both boards are regulation size ( 24x48 inches ) with 6 inch holes and that your toss bags weigh between 14-16 ounces each.
