What does CFGB mean in CHARITY

The Canadian FoodGrains Bank is a partnership of 15 churches and church-based agencies working together to end global hunger. It is committed to empowering communities around the world to end hunger and poverty through sustainable food production and community development projects.

The FoodGrains Bank works with local partners in more than 25 countries, primarily in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The bank's primary goal is to reduce hunger and build food security among vulnerable people living in developing countries. To do this, it works with partner organizations on a variety of projects including agricultural training programs, seed distribution programs, nutrition education sessions, and access to clean water.

The FoodGrains Bank supports vulnerable people living in developing countries who are facing hunger due to poverty or other factors. This includes children, women and men who lack access to nutritious foods, farmers who need help getting their crops off the ground, and rural communities that need support to develop community resilience.

Agriculture is one of the best ways to reduce hunger while at the same time providing meaningful economic opportunities for families living in developing countries. Farming can bring increased income as well as improved nutrition for families affected by food insecurity. By focusing on local agriculture solutions we are able to create systemic change that leads to long-term solutions for global hunger issues.

The FoodGrains Bank funds a range of projects including agricultural training programs; seed distribution programs; nutrition education sessions; access to clean water; tools for harvesting; soil conservation initiatives; organic farming techniques; post-harvest storage solutions; marketing assistance; animal husbandry solutions such as livestock breeding/disease control strategies; beekeeping instruction; land management practices; financial literacy training; health promotion activities such as HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns. As part of its commitment to strengthening communities affected by global hunger, the bank also funds advocacy initiatives related to food security concerns around the world.

Absolutely! Your donations are used directly by local partner organizations on projects that empower smallholder farmers with sustainable farming methods so they can produce healthy food for their own consumption or market production. Each donation helps families move from subsistence-level farming towards market production — which not only means better nutrition but also allows families become self-reliant individuals who can provide for their families and contribute positively within their communities.

COVID has had significant impacts all over our world — particularly those already struggling with food insecurity and poverty before this crisis began unfolding. Here in Canada we have seen donations spike as Canadians recognize the importance of our work now more than ever — but unfortunately there has been an increase in demand too as many people find themselves suddenly relying on emergency food services that were previously unnecessary.

There are lots of ways you can get involved beyond making a financial contribution! You could volunteer your time or expertise here at home (in Canada) or overseas where most of our programs operate - depending on when travel restrictions allow us back into these countries again! You could also encourage others in your network (your friends, family members & colleagues) about Global Hunger & how they might get involved too! Whether you're passionate about teaching permaculture techniques overseas or advocating for policy change here at home — you can play an important role & make a big difference!
