History

In France, German Pointers have been kept as watchdogs since the mid-1800s. With their strong sense of loyalty and protectiveness towards their owners they became popular hunting companions, as well as much loved family members. In 1994, a group of enthusiasts decided to formally organize this community with the aim of promoting and protecting the population of German Pointers in France by forming an association - now known as Club Français du Braque Allemand (CFBA).

Mission

The CFBA is committed to encouraging responsible ownership through raising awareness about best practices for caring for German Pointers in France. From providing initial information about correct feeding methods and regular exercise needs through to training assistance from qualified professionals, our organization works hard to ensure that each owner provides quality care for his or her canines. Additionally, we are developing key alliances across Europe which further our efforts towards improving living conditions for these four-legged friends all over Europe.

Goals

At CFBA, we strive to constantly evolve our activities in order to achieve our mission statement — “Raise awareness on best practices for caring for German Pointers in France". With this goal in mind we work diligently on several key initiatives such as promoting responsible ownership through educating owners on proper nutrition and care habits; collaborating with veterinarians and certified trainers in order to provide professional advice; participating in events that bring visibility not just locally but also internationally; continuously engaging with relevant stakeholders in order to advocate and promote our cause; and finally, engaging with other international associations that share similar goals.
