What does CEWA mean in CANADIAN

The Canadian Energy Workers Association (CEWA) is a national organization of energy professionals representing over 40,000 workers from across Canada. We are dedicated to advancing and protecting the interests of our members in the energy sector. Our mission is to provide our members with information and resources related to their employment, safety, and financial security, as well as advocating for collective bargaining rights.

CEWA represents workers employed in the nuclear energy, hydroelectricity, oil and gas, wind power, solar energy, industrial trade union and other industry-related fields.

Any person who works or has at least five years’ experience working in a relevant field is eligible for membership with the Canadian Energy Workers Association.

To become a member of CEWA you must fill out an application form online and submit it along with any required documents or fees. Once your application has been received it will be reviewed and you will be informed of any next steps should you be approved for membership.

Yes! The Canadian Energy Workers Association provides members with access to legal advice on labour rights issues by qualified energy lawyers that are knowledgeable about current legislation related to the energy industry.

In addition to providing legal assistance on labour rights issues CEWA also offers its members access to career development resources such as résumé writing tips, job placement services and workshops on improving interview skills. Members also receive discounts on products such as protective gear for work sites as well as other exclusive benefits.

All registered members will receive periodic emails from CEWA about upcoming events, new developments within the association or related industry news that they may find helpful when navigating their own careers in the energy industry. Additionally, we maintain up-to-date social media accounts where you can follow us for regular updates on all things related to CEWA and our members.

Through events such as networking sessions or educational seminars our goal is to help our members grow professionally by giving them opportunities they would not have had otherwise. We recognize that knowledge truly is power so we strive to give our members access to insights that they would not otherwise have without being part of CEWA.

Generally speaking most of our events are open only to registered members however we may occasionally host some open events which are open for non-members so please refer to specific event postings for more details beforehand if this applies.
