What Does ACME Do?

ACME's mission is to foster engagement in the arts among all ages. To this end they offer a variety of educational experiences that focus on making the museum experience both more accessible and more engaging. Through interactive workshops, exhibitions and immersive learning opportunities ACME strives to create memorable encounters with works of art that promote critical thinking skills as well as creative expression. They also aim to spark dialogue around issues such as creativity, community development and social justice that are relevant in today's world. Additionally, ACME also aims to contribute towards research about art collections as well as work towards preserving them for future generations. Programs: ACME's programming consists of a variety of activities designed to increase individual engagement with art forms from all over the world. These activities range from youth mentoring programs in which visitors can gain hands-on experience working with artifacts from various cultures; collaborative projects encouraging community members to engage with one another in shared artistic endeavors; teaching residencies providing school aged children exposure to global artistic traditions; workshops designed for adults looking to explore new techniques or hone their craft; and tours led by experts that delve into lesser known aspects of collections within a particular museum or gallery space. Locations: ACME has initiatives taking place across multiple locations including New York City, London, Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo. Programs are held at museums as well as other cultural sites such as libraries, parks or festivals depending on the activity being offered. Through partnerships with existing institutions — both public and private — ACME is able give students access to resources they might not otherwise be exposed to while still maintaining traditional educational standards within each location they operate in.
