What is the Chinese Engineering Students' Association?
The Chinese Engineering Students’ Association (CESA) is a non-profit student organization comprised of and focusing on University of Toronto engineering students from diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences with a shared passion for promoting Asian cultures within the university. We strive to create meaningful connections by providing an array of social and cultural events that bring together our membership.
What are some of CESA's initiatives?
CESA works to broaden the horizons of its members through interactive workshops and seminars, guest speakers, inviting alumni back to campus, career mentorship opportunities, and community service initiatives. We also host many engaging activities such as our annual Winter Gala, Karaoke Nights, movie nights, and more!
How can I join CESA?
Joining CESA is easy! You can join online by visiting our website or you can attend any one of our events or meetings to join in person. In either case, joining & staying connected with CESA will certainly provide amazing opportunities for learning & networking.

No! All membership fees have been waived this year since it is difficult for us all to adjust due to COVID-19 restrictions. Everyone is welcome regardless!

Yes there is an executive board at CESA consisting of 13 directors responsible for planning activities/events each term as well as organizing volunteer opportunities. There are also 4 executive members who take lead in IT operations and financial management. These executive board members are voted in annually by the general membership in March/April each year.
Do I need specific qualifications/experience to be part of the executive board?
No specific requirements needed! Anyone interested just needs to be passionate about making life better for fellow peers at UofT and show dedication towards their position on the executive board if elected into office (dedication means attending all meetings & actively contributing towards running events). We believe all members possess unique capabilities & potentials that we would love to see activated through contributions made here at CESA!
