What does CEAC mean in COUNCIL

The purpose of the California Employer Advisory Council is to provide advocacy, education, communication, and information services between employers and the California Employment Development Department (EDD). CEAC strives to promote fairness and uniformity among all businesses in California by enforcing employment laws and regulations.

Any employer or business in the state of California can become a member of CEAC. Membership requires participation on committees or at meetings as well as efforts to help promote CEAC's mission of advocating for fair treatment under all employment laws and regulations.

Through their advocacy efforts, CEAC works with EDD to monitor enforcement actions by state agencies. Additionally, they work with legislators to review new labor law proposals before they are adopted so that potential impacts on employers are considered prior to setting new standards for enforcement or compliance.
