What does ACJC mean in LAW & LEGAL

The mission of the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC) is to improve public safety in Arizona through comprehensive criminal justice planning, research, evaluation, and analysis while promoting collaboration among law enforcement agencies.

The ACJC provides a variety of services to Arizona's criminal justice system, including grant-making support, policy development, training and education programs, statistical analysis and research, data collection and dissemination as well as program administration.

The ACJC supports various initiatives including technology grants for local law enforcement agencies; program evaluation grants for counties; funding for specialty courts for drug treatment; grants for therapeutic behavioral health services in juvenile systems; educational programming on evidence-based practices; data collection audits; and strategic planning assistance for probation departments.

Eligibility requirements vary based on grant type. Generally speaking however, governmental entities such as counties or municipalities or non-profit organizations located in Arizona are eligible applicants.
