History

Central Districts FC was founded in 1920 as South China Athletic Association, originally playing in the Third Division of the Hong Kong Amateur Football Association. In 1974, after several promotions, South China AA were crowned champions of the Second Division and were admitted into the First Division where they played for five seasons until 1979 when they changed their name to Central Districts FC. Since then, the club has enjoyed a great deal of success both domestically and internationally, winning multiple championships in domestic competitions as well as competing in continental tournaments such as the AFC Cup and AFC Presidents Cup.
