What does CCPL mean in LIBRARIES

Library cards are free to anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Fremont County. You can apply for a library card in person at any of our locations or online. Once your application is approved, you will receive a temporary library card that you can use until your permanent one arrives by mail.

Depending on what type of account you have, you are eligible to borrow up to 100 items from the library at one time. This includes books, CDs, DVDs, Audiobooks and more! All materials may be renewed up to three times unless another patron has placed a hold on the item.

Yes! You can place holds on any item from any of our collection sites either online or in person. If an item is available for check-out it will be held for five days waiting for you to pick it up. If it is not picked up within five days it will be released for other patrons to check out.

The only fee associated with borrowing materials is if an item becomes overdue and additional fines must be paid before further use of the library’s resources can take place. Overdue fees start at $0.25 per day or $1 maximum per item depending on what type of material it is. Fines are waived if the material is returned within seven days after its due date.

Anyone over 5 years old is eligible for their own individual library card, however minors under 18 must have their parent/guardian sign their registration form as well as provide proof of residency such as a driver’s license or piece of mail addressed to the adult signing the form.

Memberships do not usually expire but they must be kept updated every two years with current contact information like mailing address/email address/phone number etc.. To update your account please visit your closest branch or fill out the online form available on our website.

Yes, CCPL has thousands of both downloadable digital audiobooks and eBooks which are accessible via Overdrive. To download these titles all you need is your valid Canon City Public Library card along with internet access.

Yes, we have devices available for public use at each branch including PCs, laptops and tablets which come preloaded with necessary office software and access to cloud applications such as Word & Excel plus complimentary Wi-Fi throughout each facility.
