What does CCHW mean in HEALTHCARE

The Center for Community Health Workforce (CCHW) is a nonprofit initiative that focuses on improving the healthcare status of underserved and underrepresented communities. It works to empower individuals, families, and organizations by connecting them to local resources, providing training and support to health workers, and creating culturally competent healthcare systems.

CCHW offers a range of services related to healthcare workforce development, health equity and access, and leadership development for communities of color. This includes capacity building for community health workers; providing technical assistance for grant writing; connecting community groups with local universities or other organizations in their area; advocating for policy changes; creating educational materials about healthcare topics; and helping build projects that focus on building healthy, just communities.

CCHW’s services are primarily directed towards disadvantaged or marginalized populations that face disparities in access to education and quality healthcare. This includes people of color, rural communities, immigrants/refugees, low-income households or uninsured individuals. However, all members of the public may benefit from the information CCHW provides.

By equipping local clinicians with the knowledge they need to care effectively for underserved populations and connect them with community resources. Through continuous training programs for clinicians as well as community health workers (CHWs), CCHW aims to create compassionate care teams who are culturally competent and better able to understand how social determinants affect patient outcomes.

Yes we do – we actively partner with different universities around the country in order to provide additional research opportunities focused on health disparities faced by minority groups living in particular areas.
