This student-led organization was initially created with the mission to help students have fun while learning ballroom dancing techniques at a collegiate level. Through weekly practices, performances, and events, it provides an environment where individuals of all backgrounds can learn about ballroom dancing including waltz, tango, samba, foxtrot, quickstep and more. Its membership comes from all five undergrad colleges in Claremont including Pomona College, Scripps College, Harvey Mudd College, Pitzer College and Claremont McKenna College.

What styles of dance does CCBDC offer?
CCBDC offers various forms of partner dances such as east coast swing, waltz, cha-cha, foxtrot, rumba, salsa, bachata, merengue and more! We also offer workshops that focus on other forms such as West Coast Swing, Balboa, Lindy Hop & Blues.
Does one have to be a member to participate in CCBDC activities?
No! Everyone is welcomed to join any of our classes or social dance events regardless of your skill level or what type of membership you hold with the organization. All we ask is that you have fun and enjoy yourself!
What type of membership options do you offer?
Currently we offer two types of memberships which are Full Memberships or Partial Memberships. With a Full Membership you will get free entry into all weekly classes/social dances plus additional discounts on special events and merchandise. With a Partial Membership you will get free entry into all weekly class/social dances but won't receive discounts for special events or merchandise.
How much does it cost to become a CCBDC member?
Both our Full & Partial Memberships cost only $30 per semester! That’s right – just $30 will give you access to all our weekly classes/social dances for an entire semester!
Can I attend a class without becoming a member first?
Absolutely! We welcome everyone who is interested in learning something new & having fun--no matter their experience level. Our Instructors & Team Leaders would be more than happy to assist those without previous knowledge or know-how when it comes to ballroom dancing. You can always decide afterwards if membership is right for you after experiencing what we have to offer.

Yes! One of the best ways to understand what we do here at the Claremont College Ballroom Dance Company is by watching our performances! Every year we put together amazing showcases featuring our members performing various pieces they've been working on throughout semesters in various styles such as Waltz, Jazz, Cha Cha and more!
