What does ACC mean in CLUBS

The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) is a national organization that has been promoting and protecting responsible mountain culture throughout Canada since 1906. The ACC supports individuals and organizations interested in mountain recreation, including climbing, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, backcountry camping, mountain biking and mountaineering.

Becoming an ACC member offers multiple benefits to outdoor enthusiasts. Members receive access to trailheads across Canada and discounts on gear and related purchases at various locations nationwide. Additionally, members enjoy exclusive programs such as discounted lodging rates, avalanche safety courses, outdoor leadership training courses and more!

Absolutely! Joining the ACC is quick and easy; all you need to do is fill out our online membership form here - https://www.alpineclubofcanada.ca/join - which will only take a few minutes. Once your form has been successfully submitted, we’ll send you an email with instructions on how to pay for your membership.

An annual membership with the Alpine Club of Canada costs $56 ($46 for people under 30 years old). You may also choose to purchase a 3-year membership for $153 or a 5-year membership for $245 – making it even easier to save money while exploring the Canadian outdoors!

Yes! Members can bring up to four guests at no extra cost when accessing trails maintained by the ACC. If desired, both members and their guests can also purchase Trail Access Passes (TAPs), which allow them access to any trail managed by the ACC with no need for guest passes each time they visit.

While there are no mandatory pieces of equipment required (other than helmets when biking), visitors should always be properly prepared before venturing out into nature; this includes packing emergency supplies such as first-aid kits as well as warm clothes and plenty of food & water. We recommend consulting our Trail Gear Checklist before setting off on any hike or bike ride!

Yes – members are welcome to rent equipment directly from us (e.g., ice axe/crampons/boots). All rental items have been personally inspected by our volunteers in order to ensure quality & safety standards are met before being distributed amongst our members or loaned out externally for public events & programs hosted by non-profit organizations across Canada.

Yes – we’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would be willing to help us promote responsible mountain culture throughout Canada! Volunteers play a vital role in almost every aspect of our organization – from trail maintenance & running educational programs/courses for youth groups/families/seniors all the way up through leading expeditions in remote areas. They also assist with planning & coordinating events like international alpine festivals & world climbing competitions held throughout different regions across Canada each year!

The ACT provides various educational programs tailored towards different age groups & levels – ranging from beginner introductions on topics like outdoor navigation/orienteering all the way through advanced workshops focused on wilderness first aid/avalanche safety courses designed specifically for serious adventurers who require additional skills training before venturing into extreme terrain conditions found outside populated areas worldwide.

No – families don’t require individual memberships if they want access trails maintained by us together; you simply need one joint family pass that covers everyone within your party (up 4pax). As mentioned above, this applies both when accessing Trails Access Passes (TAPs) as well as bringing guests along with you during excursions into nature managed by us. We believe that exploring nature should be affordable & accessible for everybody – regardless their background or financial capabilities - so we do what we can do make it easier on those looking get outdoors.
