What does CBRA mean in ASSOCIATIONS

The primary goal of CBRA is to promote amateur radio through education, support, and fellowship.

By joining CBRA, you have access to exclusive activities such as field events, technical lectures, online forums, and personal advice from experienced members. Additionally, there are social activities such as picnics and camp raffles for members of the organization.

Yes! Annually, CBRA holds its large Hamfest event along with other smaller events throughout the year. These events include safety checks on equipment, competitions like Fox Hunting where participants seek out hidden transmitters in a set time limit and Contests which test an individual's communication skills on various frequencies.

To join CBRA you must complete a membership application form located on their website at https://www.cbrahams.org/, print it out, fill it out completely and mail it in with your payment within two weeks of date received. Once you submit your membership application form and dues payment your application will be processed by the Membership Chairperson or another member who handles new membership requests within 3 weeks of receipt — usually sooner.

To communicate about upcoming events, ideas for projects etc., members use both email listservs as well as more traditional methods such as discussion boards and phone calls/text messages/voice-mails from home radios/repeaters (radios connected to an antenna on top of a building or tower). Additionally modern technology has been used including social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter to promote both clubs events & club activities online.
