What does BCN mean in NURSING

A breast cancer nurse can provide you with physical, psychological, and spiritual support throughout your journey. They can help you manage symptoms associated with breast cancer treatments, give advice on how best to cope emotionally during this difficult time, coordinate care between different specialists, help you understand your diagnosis and treatment plan, provide education on self-care tips to reduce or prevent side effects from treatments, connect you to resources in the community that can provide additional support such as financial assistance or home care services.

To become a BCN one must first become a registered nurse (RN). Following RN certification most nurses choose to specialize in an area such as oncology or palliative care nursing. Other qualifications may include certifications from organizations like the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
