What does EDSE mean in SCHOOLS

The Episcopal Day School of Evergreen (EDSE) is an educational institution for Pre-K through 8th grade students in Jacksonville, Florida. Our mission is to provide a rigorous and enriching academic experience for all ages, coupled with a Christian faith-based education that encourages creativity and collaboration. We strive to be a school where children are nurtured in their love of learning, sharing and service.

At EDSE, we offer a rigorous academic program centered on the Common Core Standards and enriched with Spanish language instruction, arts and music classes, technology instruction, physical education courses and regular chapel services. We also have extracurricular activities like clubs, sports teams and community service opportunities available for our students.

Tuition costs vary depending on grade level with fees ranging from $1425 (pre-kindergarten) to $7765 (8th grade). Financial aid may be available depending on individual circumstances. Please contact the office for more information about tuition costs and financial aid options.

Yes, we provide transportation to our school from select locations throughout Jacksonville. Bus routes can be viewed online or obtained from the school office.

Extra-curricular activities include after school clubs such as robotics or chess club; athletic teams including basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball; honor societies such as French honor society or National Junior Honor Society; student government roles; theater productions; as well as a variety of community service initiatives.

Yes! Every year we participate in standardized testing programs like FCAT/EOCs (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests/End Of Course Exams) for grades 3rd - 12th; PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) for grades 8th - 10th; SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam); MSTEP/MME (Michigan Student Test Of Educational Progress / Michigan Merit Exam)for grades 11th & 12th; HSPT/NOCTI(High School Placement Test / National Occupational Competency Testing Institute).

Admission requirements include an application form filled out by parent/guardian; current copy of student’s immunization record with all required vaccines given according to state guidelines ; two teacher references obtained by parents ; passing scores on entrance tests administered by the school ; and personal interview with members of the admissions committee if requested by admissions department.

We provide various support services to our students including counseling services that focus on mental health issues such as bullying prevention, stress management, social skills, conflict resolution etc.; additional resources offered through our partner organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Sunshine Center For Grieving Children etc.; and student advocacy services that help ensure success both inside and outside the classroom.
