What does AHMF mean in MEMORIALS

AHMF is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of representatives from Alaskan Native Communities, environmental organizations, and local businesses. This board collaborates with local agencies and stakeholders to ensure that projects are beneficial for everyone involved.

AHMF works to promote sustainable harvesting practices in the Aleutian Islands through research, education, preservation of traditional practices, and project development. Additionally, we offer financial support to local harvesters for equipment repair or replacement needs.

Your donation will be used toward supporting research activities that further advance understanding and protection of historic resources associated with Alaska Native heritage sites in addition funding community based education initiatives such as building trails, providing gear repairs, materials for traditional arts workshops etc..

Besides direct monetary donations there are many other ways you can contribute your energy toward protecting Alaskan Native heritage sites - from attending one of our fundraising events such as walks/runs or 5ks; volunteering your time teaching others about traditional art forms; or utilizing your skills-set towards marketing or web-design projects here at AFHM!
