What does CATC mean in TRANSPORTATION

The purpose of CATC is to advocate for the development of effective and efficient public transportation in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

CATC represents residents, businesses, organizations, and institutions in the seven jurisdictions of the Washington DC Metro Area (DC; Montgomery & Prince George's Counties, MD; Arlington & Fairfax Counties, VA; Alexandria & Falls Church City, VA).

CATC engages with regional decision makers to promote strategic investment initiatives that will benefit current and future generations by providing access to opportunities throughout our region. This includes advocating for increased funding levels for transit operations and capital improvements at both state and local levels.

CATC supports initiatives like expanding transit services into underserved areas, making it easier to access transit services in low-income communities, facilitating greater coordination among different modes of transport, improving bicycle infrastructure throughout our region, promoting zero emission electric buses and other green vehicles, as well as advocating for policy changes that will make it easier for passengers to use multiple forms of transit within one journey.
