What does DEAL mean in ECONOMICS

DEAL's goals are to:

• Shift economies from extractive and polluting models to regenerative and equitable ones.
• Create economies that meet the needs of all people, within the ecological limits of our planet.
• Develop and implement solutions that accelerate the transition to Doughnut Economics.

DEAL is a network of organizations from around the world, including businesses, governments, non-profit organizations, and individuals. It is led by Kate Raworth, the creator of Doughnut Economics.

The Doughnut Economics model is a framework for creating an economy that meets the needs of all people, while staying within the ecological limits of our planet. It is based on the idea of a "safe and just space for humanity," which is defined by two concentric rings:

• The inner ring represents the social foundation, which includes meeting the basic needs of all people, such as food, water, energy, and shelter.
• The outer ring represents the ecological ceiling, which includes the environmental limits that we must not exceed, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.

DEAL works by providing resources, training, and support to organizations that are working to transition to Doughnut Economics. It also advocates for policy changes that support Doughnut Economics principles.
