What does OCMA mean in ASSOCIATIONS

The mission of OCMA is to provide support, guidance, and opportunities to youth in Oconee County through positive adult mentorship relationships. Our goal is to empower youth to reach their full potential and make a positive impact in the community.

Youth from all backgrounds and circumstances can benefit from our program. We particularly focus on youth who are facing challenges or who may not have access to a consistent, positive role model in their lives. Our mentors provide a safe and supportive environment where youth can learn, grow, and develop their potential.

We carefully match youth with adult mentors based on their interests, goals, and needs. Mentors and mentees meet on a regular basis to engage in activities, discuss their experiences, and provide support. Our program is designed to foster long-term relationships that can provide youth with guidance and encouragement throughout their lives.

Research has consistently shown that mentoring programs have numerous benefits for youth, including improved academic performance, increased self-esteem, and reduced risk-taking behaviors. Through our program, youth develop important life skills, gain exposure to new experiences, and build strong relationships with caring adults.
