What does ADOP mean in UNCLASSIFIED

The Aerodrome Design and Operations Panel (ADOP) is a collective of subject matter experts convened by ICAO to provide advice and guidance on aerodrome design and operations standards. These professionals work together to identify areas in need of improvement, develop recommendations, and ensure that airfield operations adhere to international safety standards.

The ADOP oversees a range of activities related to aerodrome design and operation, including consultations between members; review, evaluation, interpretation, and amendment of ICAO Annex 14 documents; submission of advice to the ICAO Council in related matters; updates to operational standards for industry-wide implementation; and review of any other issues pertaining to aerodrome design or operations as referred by the Council.

The ADOP membership includes representatives from both civil aviation authorities (CAA) as well as representatives from international organizations such as IATA, Flight Safety Foundation, ASECNA, IFALPA, ALAIRECF/ISAGO and other national/regional organizations. All members must be approved by their respective governments prior to selection.
