What does NOTR mean in UNCLASSIFIED

Niggaz On The Run (NOTR) is a community empowering youth to rise above the poverty, violence and lack of opportunity they are often faced with. NOTR works with at-risk high school students in underserved communities to provide mentoring, workshops, and resources. Our goal is to foster a sense of hope and belief in their future potential, helping these students become successful citizens who positively affect their communities.

NOTR provides valuable support services that influence positive outcomes for the entire community. We offer mentorship programs that help young people develop necessary skills for adulthood, educational workshops that help them stay on track and achieve higher academic goals, job training opportunities so they have access to better employment options, as well as youth outreach initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles. In addition, we host regular meetings where key leaders from various organizations come together to discuss social issues affecting our communities and look for ways to address those issues collaboratively.

Young people are our future leaders and it’s essential that they receive the guidance and resources needed in order to reach their full potential. Through engagement with NOTR’s programs, young people are exposed to inspiring role models who have successfully overcome adversity while developing knowledge about career paths and furthering their education. They gain access to life-changing resources which can be applied both personally and professionally. Most importantly, by participating in the organization’s activities young people learn how their involvement can significantly contribute towards creating a more equitable society for everyone.

NOTR hosts many events throughout the year such as workshops focused on college/career exploration; resume building; financial literacy; leadership development; violence prevention; gang awareness; fitness classes; community service projects; etc. In addition, we have open gym sessions where youth can play sports in a safe environment as well as social events such as movie nights or holiday celebrations where y outh are able to interact with one another in a constructive manner outside of school hours.

We offer several different types of fitness classes which vary depending on location but generally include strength-training exercises such as yoga, kettlebell workouts or high-intensity interval training (HIIT), along with outdoor activities like running or biking.

Participants must be between 14-18 years old depending on location and must commit themselves fully into benefiting from all aspects of the program – including workshops and athletic activities.
