SERW stands for Skill, Effort, Responsibility and Working Conditions.

This evaluation system helps employers assess an employee's overall performance in the workplace by assessing the different aspects of their job. It helps employers identify areas where improvement is needed or potential areas where employees could benefit from additional training or development.

The four components of SERW are Skill, Effort, Responsibility and Working Conditions. Each component looks at different factors that determine how well an employee performs in their job. Skill looks at an employee's technical abilities, Effort looks at how hard an employee works on each task, Responsibility evaluates an employee's ability to take ownership over tasks given to them and Working Conditions evaluates the environment they work in.

Employers rate each component individually using a scale from one to five. The higher the number assigned to each component, the more effective an employee is performing in that area. At the end of the assessment period, employers can see how effectively each employee is performing throughout all four categories.

Although this method of evaluating employees is helpful for assessing overall performance levels in the workplace, it can be subjective as opinions may differ from employer to employer on what constitutes good performance within a certain area or category. Additionally, some forms of feedback may not be captured such as interpersonal skills or initiative taken without explicit instruction provided by managers/employers which can play a role in overall job performance as well.
