What does ILEAD mean in CARDIOLOGY

ILEDAD is most often caused by an aortic dissection, which is where a tear occurs in the inner layer of the aorta causing blood to flow into between it's layers. Other causes can include trauma, atherosclerosis and arterial occlusion.

The most common symptom of ILEDAD is pain in the lower extremities (legs). Pain may be accompanied by numbness, weakness or tingling sensations. Other symptoms may include coldness or discoloration in the feet or ankles, as well as difficulty walking or standing for long periods of time.

Your doctor may order imaging tests such as an ultrasound or CT scan to diagnose ILEDAD. They may also use Doppler studies or nerve conduction studies to confirm the diagnosis.
