What does UCAN mean in RELIGION

United Christians At Nelson (U-CAN) is a group of local Christians dedicated to serving the needs of our community. Our goal is to promote fellowship, service, and evangelism while providing for the spiritual growth of all members.

U-CAN provides a variety of activities and services to meet the needs of people in our community such as Bible study classes, food pantries, clothing closets, homeless outreach programs, career development initiatives and other resources.

While our primary focus is on meeting the needs of people in the community through our various initiatives, we also operate two physical spaces in Nelson County for worship services and other programs.

We welcome anyone who would like to join us in ministry! We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from office work to leading small groups or providing first-aid assistance at events. You can also attend one of our worship services or participate in any number of our outreach programs.

No – we encourage people from all walks of life to get involved with U-CAN! We have activities suitable for children and adults alike. However, depending on the activity or program we may ask that minors are accompanied by an adult if needed.

Being part of U-CAN requires no financial obligation – all activities are offered free of charge! We may occasionally ask for donations towards specific projects or initiatives but these are always voluntary contributions and not mandatory fees.

While there is no strict dress code required when attending events or services hosted by us at U-CAN we do ask that you wear clothes that are not offensive or disruptive to others’ enjoyment or comfort level.

Absolutely! We invite everyone from every faith tradition to join us as we come together as one unified body, united under a common cause – love for everyone regardless their faith backgrounds -and support each other in times of need without any judgment or prejudice.
