What does CCM mean in MEDICAL

The Consortium for Culture and Medicine (CCM) is an international research collaborative dedicated to promoting knowledge and understanding of health, wellbeing, and healing in cultural contexts.

CCM facilitates research, education, and action that take into account both the influence of culture on health-related practices and beliefs as well as the ways in which health care can be improved through the integration of cultural approaches to healing.

CCM works with a variety of global partners including universities, governments, healthcare institutions, non-profit organizations, researchers, practitioners, students and community members.

CCM uses a participatory approach which recognizes multiple worldviews on health as valid guides for individual behavior rather than imposing universal standards from outside. This approach emphasizes partnership with local stakeholders in all phases of our activities.
