What does CAIP mean in CANADIAN

CAIP stands for Canada Accelerator and Incubator Program. It is a government-funded program that supports innovation, commercialization and expansion of Canadian businesses. The goal of the program is to foster the growth of innovative small business and help them become successful global entrepreneurs.

Any business which meets the criteria set out by the government can apply for the CAIP funding. These criteria generally include having a product or service with a potential for commercial success, being able to demonstrate sufficient current or future market demand and being in good standing with all relevant government departments.

The amount of money available through the CAIP depends on various factors such as type of business, size, level of innovation and market potential. Generally, up to $500,000 CAD per project may be approved for businesses that meet all eligibility requirements.

Funds from the CAIP can be used for most expenses related to developing and launching a new product or service into a market, including research & development costs, prototype production costs, marketing expenses, salary & wages expenses and professional services costs (such as consulting).

Yes! Some organizations partner with different accelerators or incubators in order to access additional resources that support entrepreneurship initiatives such as grants and investments. The list of partners who have signed agreements with CAIP can be found on their website.

Once an application has been received by GDC-CAIpCanada, processing times are approximately two weeks from submission date; however this could vary depending on holidays or other unforeseen circumstances. Notification will be made via email once your application has been reviewed and accepted or declined.

Unfortunately not every application submitted will be accepted due to limited funds availability and other criteria specific factors inherent to each individual situation; however rejected applicants will receive notification outlining why their applications were denied and what they should do next in order improve their chances when they reapply in future rounds of applications.
