What does CNRP mean in NURSING

The Carle Nurse Residency Program (CNRP) is a national residency program that provides support and resources to newly graduated nurses. It helps bridge the gap between education and practice, and to improve the quality of nursing care.

Through CNRP, new graduate nurses receive guidance and assistance with transitioning from student nurse to professional nurse practice. This includes orientation, mentoring, professional development activities, specialty certification courses, conference attendance, leadership opportunities and other resources which may include financial assistance for tuition/certification exams. The goal of the program is to provide an environment in which new graduates can gain experience while being supported by experienced mentors.

Yes! Eligibility for CNRP is open to all bachelor's prepared entry-level registered nurses who have graduated within one year prior to application or are currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school's final semester of coursework.

The CNRP offers a variety of educational opportunities such as orientation, mentoring, professional development activities, specialty certification courses and attendance at conferences/other events related to nursing. Financial aid may also be available for tuition/certification exams associated with any educational activities through the organization providing them (e.g., ANCC).

Yes. All participants must commit up to 12 months depending on their specialty area; however completion times may vary based on individual situations. All participants must complete all required components associated with their specific residency track in order to obtain full benefits from this program which include salary increases as well as recognition upon completion.
