What does AACI mean in CANCER

AACI is a consortium of cancer centers across the United States that have been designated as National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers. AACI serves to advance and develop best practices and collaborations among these centers in an effort to reduce morbidity and mortality from cancer.

AACI works to promote quality care through collaboration, education, research, and advocacy on behalf of its members. This includes developing models for improving patient care, researching prevention strategies, supporting clinical trials, and educating patients about their diagnosis and treatment options.

We're currently working on initiatives including encouraging states to pass laws that protect clinical trial participants from cost barriers associated with participating in trials; advocating on behalf of more equitable access to screening tests and other early detection measures; encouraging healthcare providers to publicly disclose conflicts of interest related financial arrangements; fostering multidisciplinary collaborations among top researchers around the world; and creating comprehensive best practices guides out lined by our member institutions.
