What does EEPU mean in EDUCATIONAL

The Estonian Educational Personnel Union (EEPU) is a professional organization that works to promote and protect the rights of teachers, professors, school employees, and those in other positions within education. It does this by advocating for safe learning environments, fair wages and benefits, respect for workers’ rights, and quality education for all students. EEPU works in partnership with the government to ensure that current educational policies meet high standards.

All teachers and school personnel employed in the public sector in Estonia are eligible to join EEPU. Membership requires an application and payment of dues as outlined on their website or by contacting a local representative.

EEPU members are guaranteed certain fundamental rights which include the right to collective bargaining; protection from dismissal without just cause; legal representation; health care insurance coverage; severance packages; maternity leave provision; pensions and disability benefits upon retirement; and union representation at meetings or conferences concerning labour issues.

Yes! Every year EEPU hosts several conferences around Estonia which bring together local unions and representatives from larger organizations like The European Trade Unions Congress (ETUC). In addition there are numerous roundtable discussions and workshops hosted throughout the country too where members can discuss current issues affecting their profession as well as network with employers & experts in their field.

While most activities organized by or supported by the union focus primarily on education-related topics - social justice initiatives do appear among its programs from time-to-time where deemed important enough.
