What does DSL mean in SOCCER

The Downtown Soccer League is open to people of all ages from 4 through 18 years old. Participants 4-6 years old participate at an introductory level with modified rules and equipment. Those 7-18 can participate in recreation or competitive level games depending on their experience and ability.

The DSL has strict standards for game play that are designed to create a balanced playing environment. These standards include ensuring players have appropriate skill levels based on their age group, using goalkeepers when appropriate, providing referees for every game, and stating that physical contact should not be used to impede opponents' progress.

In addition to providing organized games, tournaments and activities, the DSM offers coaching clinics to help players develop their soccer skills as well as nutrition counseling for athletes looking for tips on how best to fuel their performance on the field.

There is a fee associated with joining the DSL but it is minimal compared to those charged by more competitive clubs. Furthermore, financial assistance may be available for those who need it.

All players must provide a current physician's release form before they can participate in any activity put on by the DSL. In keeping with best practices outlined by governing bodies such as US Youth Soccer Association, teams practice proper hydration habits during all activities and ensure access to medical attention if needed during competitions or tournaments held away from home fields.
