What does ACDB mean in MILITARY

ACDB stands for Army Combat Developer.

To become an Army Combat Developer, you must have specialized knowledge in multiple areas such as weapons and warfare, logistics, technology, training and tactics. A degree in military science or another related field is helpful but not mandatory. Additionally, you must possess strong leadership skills along with excellent communication skills.

Tasks performed by an Army Combat Developer include creating battle plans and strategizing on how best to use forces to achieve an objective; leading simulation exercises to assess the effectiveness of tactical strategies; researching new weapons systems or defensive strategies; analyzing data from previous operations; recommending changes or improvements to military processes; writing reports or briefs on current or potential battlefield situations; developing tactical doctrines; designing testing protocols for new equipment and techniques; training soldiers on the proper use of weapons systems and other equipment; instructing soldiers on proper techniques in the field; advising commanders at all levels on effective combat operations tactics; and providing intelligence updates regarding battlefield conditions.

Jobs that fall under the ACDB umbrella include infantryman, armor crewman, cavalry scout, special forces soldier, combat engineer, pilot trainer/instructor/supervisor, forward observer officer/NCO (non-commissioned officer), targeting officer/NCO/analyst, range control NCO/officer/technician and many others.
