What does TREC mean in EDUCATIONAL

The Theodore Roosevelt Education Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality education opportunities to the citizens of American Samoa. We strive to create a foundation of knowledge and skills that will enable our students to become successful members of society. We offer programs such as GED preparation, ESL classes, as well as various vocational training courses.

The TREC offers a variety of educational services to its patrons. These services include GED preparation classes, ESL classes, job placement assistance, computer instruction and vocational technical courses. In addition, we also provide access to library resources and study materials, tutoring assistance and career counseling.

We welcome all persons interested in furthering their education or gaining new skills for employment. Our programs are designed for adults seeking a high school diploma equivalency (GED), individuals seeking career assistance including job placement and those wanting to acquire general or technical skills needed for employment.

All prospective students must complete an application form which can be obtained either from our website or at our office in American Samoa. Once completed, applicants should bring the required documents such as government-issued ID/passport or birth certificate along with any transcripts from previous institutions attended in order to register for an appropriate program offered at TREC.

Tuition fees vary depending on the program chosen by each student; however most classes are offered free of charge unless specially stated otherwise on our website or brochures available at the office itself. Additionally, student grants and scholarships may be available based on individual eligibility criteria set by TREC authorities.

Yes! Students who meet certain income requirements may qualify for tuition waivers and scholarship funds which can help offset some or all costs associated with attending TREC programs. The main campus of Theodor Roosevelt Education Center is located within Pago Pago in American Samoa. Our staff ensures that transportation arrangements are made if necessary when a student has registered into one of our offsite courses or workshops provided they have met all applicable prerequisites (i.e., adequate enrollment numbers).
