What does ACRC mean in CONSORTIUMS

The AIDS Community Research Consortium provides services including research funding, education on HIV/AIDS prevention and care, advocacy for individuals with HIV/AIDS, and service delivery focused on improving the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS.

The ACRC works to improve the quality of life for those living with HIV/AIDS by advancing research initiatives related to treatment and prevention approaches as well as providing educational opportunities about preventing transmission and managing symptoms. It also supports advocacy efforts aimed at increasing access to care and reducing stigma around individuals infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Members of the AIDS Community Research Consortium include community-based organizations such as local health departments, non-profit organizations that provide direct services to people affected by HIV/AIDS, government agencies, researchers focused on advancing treatments while preventing new infections as well as individual activists who are working towards ending the epidemic.

Volunteers play an important role in helping the ACRC meet its mission. Volunteers contribute their time and expertise in areas such as administrative support for members' activities, assisting in public education sessions about issues related to HIV/AIDS prevention and care management,and providing peer counseling for individuals infected or affected by the virus.
