What does JBA mean in BASKETBALL
The Junior Basketball Association (JBA) is a professional basketball league based in the United States. It was founded in 2018 by former NBA and UCLA star, LaVar Ball. The mission of the JBA is to provide high school and college-aged players with an opportunity to showcase their talent and gain exposure to the basketball scouts and executives from the NBA. The JBA has teams located primarily in major cities throughout the U.S., including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Seattle, Detroit, Boston and Brooklyn. The league also has international teams based in Paris and London. With the JBA, players are not required to attend college or wait until they become eligible for selection in the NBA draft. Instead, they are able to join the JBA immediately after high school graduation or after at least one year of playing at a post-secondary level elsewhere. This allows young players who don’t want to go through traditional avenues of entering professional basketball a chance to compete on a world-class stage while continuing their education or pursuing other career opportunities outside of basketball.
