What does ACCP mean in COLLEGES

The American College of Correctional Physicians (ACCP) is an organization dedicated to advancing the medical care and health of individuals in the criminal justice system. ACCP focuses on advocacy, professional guidance, education and research to ensure that individuals receive the proper care they need while in custody or on supervised release.

Membership in ACCP is open to correctional health care professionals who are actively engaged in providing medical services within a correctional setting. To apply for membership, individuals must submit an application form and provide evidence of appropriate qualifications and experience. Membership is granted by the Board of Regents upon approval.

Yes - part of our mission is fostering collaborations between sectors outside corrections medicine so that more comprehensive approaches can be taken towards addressing complex challenges facing those incarcerated today.
