Rahul Dev Burman, known fondly as RDB, was a legendary Indian music director, singer, and composer. RDB was born in 1939 into a family of musicians. His father, Sachin Dev Burman, was a renowned music director, and his mother, Meera Dev Burman, was a singer. Burman began playing the harmonium at a young age and was trained in classical music. He also studied Western music and jazz at the Trinity College of Music in London.
