What does IDGA mean in GOLF

Disc golf is a sport that involves throwing and catching discs (similar to Frisbees) in order to make it into a target. The player with the fewest throws and catches the disc in the target wins the game. The object of the game is similar to traditional golf, but with discs instead of balls and clubs.

To play disc golf, players must throw their discs at a designated “target” such as a metal basket or an elevated pole in order to complete each hole. Players score points according to how many attempts or “throws” it takes for them to hit their target. The player with the lowest score for all holes, wins the game.

PDGA stands for Professional Disc Golf Association and is an organization dedicated to promoting and growing the sport of disc golf worldwide. Disc Golf courses are specially designed areas where people can play disc golf. These areas may be public parks maintained by cities or private companies or even custom-built areas created specifically for playing disc golf. Each course contains 18 numbered "holes" each with a different layout that requires unique throwing options from its players in order to make it into the target with as few throws as possible.

Anyone can play disc golf! All ages are welcome, no matter your skill level or physical ability. With its easy-to-learn rules and minimal equipment requirements, anyone can join in on a round of disc golf in no time!

Much like traditional golf, there is no one-price-fits-all answer when it comes to playing disc golf; prices will vary depending on which course you decide to play at. Many local municipalities provide free access to public disc golf courses while others may charge an admission fee or require players to purchase day passes for every visit.

Players usually carry a minimum of one disc per hole played but can carry up other discs if they wish (many serious players have entire bags filled with various types). Other than that basic requirement, the only real piece of equipment needed is comfortable clothing suitable for active physical activity (shorts/pants/t-shirts).

The main types of discs used in disc golf are putters (for short approach shots), mid-range discs (for medium distance shots), drivers (for long distance shots) and specialty discs (discs designed for specific purposes such as rollers, hyzer bombs etc.). Most beginners opt for multi-disc sets which contain 2 putters/midranges & 2 drivers so they can practice all aspects of shot selection without having too much specialized gear right away.
