What does NCU mean in NURSING

The Nursing Course Union exists to create a unified voice among students undertaking nursing programs and serve as an advocate for them. It works to improve educational and career opportunities and experiences among nursing students.

Any student enrolled in a nursing program may join the Nursing Course Union. This includes high school, undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate programs related to nursing.

The activities that the NCU engages in vary from school to school, but generally include networking events, workshops and webinars, mentorship opportunities, community service events with healthcare partners, and other professional development opportunities.

The best way to become involved is by joining your local NCU chapter at your school or contacting your local representative if you are not in a location where there is one established yet. Alternatively, you can participate in online activities such as webinars or virtual mentoring sessions that allow you to engage with other members online.

During this pandemic, many people have had difficulty acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE). The NCU has worked hard to ensure that nurses have access PPE by advocating for nurses' rights on behalf of their members and supporting initiatives at various levels of government which provide healthcare workers with needed supplies.. This has been especially important since nurses are on the frontline workers facing greater risk in fighting against COVID-19.
