What does QAAA mean in AGENCIES

The Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (QAAA) works with universities and other educational providers to ensure students receive a world-class education from accredited institutions. They set standards for the quality of education, research, and services in higher education.

QAAA has adopted a system of six indicators that measure the quality assurance of an institution's operations. These indicators are student outcomes, teaching practices, learning environment, faculty qualifications, resources available at the institution and overall institutional audit results.

Accreditation reviews take place every five years or so. During the review process, QAAA evaluates the findings of each indicator to decide whether accreditation should be renewed or revoked.

While it may provide some indication of quality assurance within an institution, accreditation by itself cannot guarantee excellence in an academic program or service provided by any specific university or college. It also cannot guarantee satisfaction on behalf of current or prospective students.

If an institution loses its accreditation from QAAA, it must address the areas identified as needing improvement in order for its accreditation status to be reinstated. In some cases this could involve reassessing academic standards or conducting faculty training programs in certain subject areas.
