What does BSNA mean in STUDENTS

The mission of Baylor Student Nurses Association (BSNA) is to provide students with a platform to build upon their academic and professional goals while cultivating relationships within the nursing community. We strive to further our members educational knowledge, clinical experiences, and career opportunities.

Membership in the Baylor Student Nurses Association (BSNA) is open to all undergraduate students enrolled in at least 9 credits per semester in the Louise Herrington School of Nursing or any distance education program. Once you become a member, you will be able to attend meetings and events throughout the year.

Yes, there are nominal membership fees. However, as a part of your membership, you will receive regular newsletters and e-mail updates regarding chapter events and activities.

As a member of BSNA you have access to resources such as scholarship programs, networking opportunities with nurses in other specialties and settings, help with job searches and continuing education courses, local chapter news updates and more! You also have access to resources like discounts on products related to nursing such as uniform companies or travel programs for nurses going abroad.

Yes! As part of your membership you can participate in various committee activities including advocacy, professional development information sharing and social events throughout the year. Committee chair roles can also be held by members who exemplify strong leadership qualities.

The organization hosts multiple social/networking events each year including movie nights, guest speakers from varying healthcare settings, health fairs where individuals can learn about nutrition tips or safety precautions in certain situations along with other community service initiatives that allow members to give back through volunteer work.

Yes! The organization partners with many outside schools like Baylor Medical Center's School of Nursing as well as philanthropic organizations like Project Semicolon which works towards ending stigma around mental health disorders. In addition we partner with different student organizations across campus so that we can foster relationships between faculty and students from all scopes of study backgrounds at Baylor University.

Absolutely! We offer both Anesthesia Scholarships for current nurses studying anesthesiology and Advanced Practice Scholarships for current advanced practice RNs pursuing doctoral degrees. Our scholarship application process ties into our members involvement within their respective education program as well as their contribution to improving university wide healthcare awareness initiatives.

No prior experience needed but it is encouraged! Our organization welcomes members from any academic background regardless if they have little or no clinical exposure yet.

Not at all - We try our best not plan events or meetings during critical class scheduling times so our members can focus on academic responsibilities first without disruptions.
