What does ICDI mean in COMMUNITY

Integrated Community Development Initiatives (ICDI) is an organization that works to bring empowering, sustainable solutions to people in impoverished and marginalized communities. ICDI works to create opportunities for those who have limited access to services, resources, and education by utilizing a holistic approach that looks at the community as a whole rather than individual needs.

ICDI offers a variety of programs and initiatives aimed at developing productive, engaged citizens who are able to participate in decision-making processes, build stronger relationships within their communities, and create strong economic foundations. This includes education initiatives such as vocational training programs, financial literacy classes, leadership development workshops, job placements services, and more.

Since its founding in 2013, ICDI has reached over 5 million individuals through its various programs across 19 countries–with newfound skills and knowledge that help them live fulfilling lives in their own communities. These individuals now have the necessary tools to positively impact their families' livelihoods and their local economies.

In addition to providing educational services and training programs, ICDI also provides healthcare services including vaccinations; nutrition programs; sanitation services; disaster risk reduction projects; emergency responses such as medical assistance and relief; agriculture-related efforts such as soil conservation measures; water security measures; waste management plans; housing subsidy plans; youth civics engagement activities; gender awareness campaigns; vocational training opportunities for women and girls; public policy advocacy initiatives with local governments, international organizations or non-governmental organizations (NGOs); partnership building initiatives with the private sector; research on best practices for rural development models from around the world which can be applied for local context. All of these combined make up our comprehensive package of support offered by ICDI for underserved communities in need of assistance.

Some of the partner organizations that work with ICDI include UNICEF, World Vision International, USAID, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Asian Development Bank, The World Bank Group, among other international aid agencies. We also collaborate with NGOs on different projects inside the countries where we operate. Additionally we work closely with corporations such as Microsoft BizSpark Plus which aids us in our technological needs while providing business guidance. Finally we also receive donations from individuals from all over the world who value our mission and share our commitment towards creating sustainable change in marginalised communities worldwide.
