What does SIAA mean in ADVERTISING

The Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAA) recognize excellence in advertising by organizations in service industries. These awards are presented each year to those agencies and organizations that go above and beyond in creating effective ads that build brand awareness and educate consumers.

Organizations or agencies that provide services such as food, lodging, automotive, financial services, retail, transportation, entertainment or health care may submit entries for the SIAA awards. Additionally, any agency that works with a service industry client has the opportunity to enter their work for consideration.

There are five primary categories of award at SIAA which include TV/Video, Radio/Audio, Digital Media, Print/Out-of-Home and Social Media & Public Relations. Each category has multiple sub-categories within it allowing entrants to pick the right section for their particular entry.

Entries must be submitted by March 15th of each year. There is an extended deadline of April 15th for individuals who wish to submit late entries but will incur an additional fee.

Yes, anyone submitting work must meet certain criteria set out by SIAA which includes being either a service provider directly involved in providing services or an advertising agency working on behalf of a service provider. Entrants must also have produced creative design and marketing campaigns specifically intended for public consumption during the period specified entry rules.

All entries are evaluated by an expert panel of judges who score each piece on creativity, originality and effectiveness in meeting client objectives or category goals. Judges take into account visual impact as well as style and techniques used when assessing each entry.

Winning entrants receive recognition through trophies presented at the awards ceremony as well as inclusion on various magazine covers featuring winners from across all categories of award winners including TV/Video, Radio/Audio, Digital Media Print/Out-of-Home & Social Media & Public Relations. However there no monetary prizes associated with winning at SIAA.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony held annually in May each year and published online shortly afterwards on a dedicated winner’s website page found on www.siaaawardscom. Every entrant should check this page throughout July after submitting their entry to see if they have won recognition.
